ASSESSMENT OF JAN-MAY 2020 SEMESTER COURSES Issue

Assessment of theory, laboratory and project courses of JAN-MAY 2020
semester, the following is to be noted: 1.
Schedule
for Online End-Semester Evaluation and Grading of Theory, Laboratory and
Project courses: 1st June 2020 to 15th July 2020. 2.
Schedule
for online special supplementary examination for theory and project courses
for final year graduating B.Tech, B.Des, M.Sc, M.A students: 20th July
2020 to 31st July 2020. Maximum 3 (three) courses can be registered for and the
highest grade that can be awarded will be 'CC'. 3. The
course instructors will decide the way of online assessment which may include
open book examination, open book quizzes, assignments, term paper, viva-voce. Course Instructors will intimate the
composition and weightage of online End-Semester assessment to the
registered students in advance. The End
Semester Assessment will have a weightage
between 10% and 60% which will be decided by the course
instructor. 4. Course Instructors
will provide sufficient time (not strictly exact 3-4 hours as in conventional
exam, may even allow 24 Hours if need be) for the submission of all the
types of online assessment including assignment, open-book examination,
and term paper. Instructors will try to complete assessment of all registered
students by allowing additional time, if necessary. 5. Date
and timing to conduct online/telephonic viva-voce will to be intimated by the
Course Instructor well in advance. 6. Students may opt for 'I' (Incomplete) grade only if there are
serious difficulties in Electricity/Network or Physical /Mental issues. It is
to be noted that this option is not meant for improvement of grade.
Interested student needs to opt 'I' for all the
registered courses, NOT selected ones. Once Institute resumes academic
activities, based on the convenience of the Instructors, assessment for 'I'
grade will be completed. The composition and weightage of evaluation for such
'I' grade will remain the same whether assessment is online or offline in
that subject. 7. An 'Academic Grievances Cell' has been formed for handling
grievances of students related to examinations and other academic
difficulties arising due to the covid-19 pandemic. Students wishing to
opt for 'I' grade or having any grievance on this online assessment can
fill-up a form, that is available in academic affairs section webpage
under announcements (https://www.iitg.ac.in/acad/covid19_grievance.php) from 1st June, 2020 onwards. It is your responsibility to reach out to your
course instructors and submit all the assignments and attend exam/viva as
conducted by course instructor. EXTENSION
OF COMPLETION OF THEORY COURSES ONLINE Last
Date for Completion of Theory Courses Online: 31st May 2020 Students are instructed to keep track of class
materials being delivered by course instructors and be in touch with them. SUSPENSION
OF ALL ACADEMIC, CO-CURRICULAR AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES EXTENDED UNTIL
FURTHER NOTICE Issue
Date: 11/05/2020 As a
part of preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19, suspension of all
academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities is extended until
further notice. This suspension includes classes, tests and examinations,
events, projects and any other activities which require the presence of
students in the Institute campus. However,
the online mode of study and evaluation are to be continued. It may be noted that there has
not been any case of COVID-19 in the campus and the above is only a
preventive measure. SUSPENSION
OF ALL ACADEMIC, CO-CURRICULAR AND EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES EXTENDED TILL
14th MAY 2020 Issue
Date: 10/04/2020 As a
part of preventive measures against the spread of COVID-19, suspension of all
academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities is extended till 14thMay
2020 (Thursday). This suspension includes classes, tests and examinations, events,
projects and any other activities which require the presence of students in
the Institute's campus. Academic activities will resume
from 15th May 2020 (Friday). However, in the event of any change
in the schedule, the same will be posted in the Institute website. It
may be noted that there has not been any case of COVID-19 in the campus and
the above is only a preventive measure. |
SUSPENSION OF CLASSES EXTENDED Issue
Date: 19/03/2020 As a part of preventive
measures against the spread of COVID-19, suspension of all academic,
co-curricular and extra-curricular activities is extended till 14th April
2020 (Tuesday). This suspension includes classes, tests and examinations,
events, projects and any other activities which require the presence of
students in the Institute's campus. Academic activities will resume
from 15th April 2020 (Wednesday). However, in the event of any change in the
schedule, the same will be posted in the Institute website. It may be noted that there has
not been any case of COVID-19 in the campus and the above is only a
preventive measure. |
URGENT INFORMATION Issue
Date: 15/03/2020 As a part of preventive
measures against the spread of COVID-19, the Institute has suspended all
academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities from 16.3.2020
(Monday) to 29.3.2020 (Sunday). This suspension includes classes, tests and
examinations, events, projects and any other activities which require the
presence of students in the Institute's campus. All the PhD,
Postgraduate and Undergraduate students are instructed to vacate the hostels
by 18th March 2020 informing the hostel security and it is expected that they
go straight to their homes. Academic activities will resume
from 30th March 2020. However, in the event of any change in the schedule,
the same will be posted in the Institute website. It may be noted that there has
not been any case of COVID-19 in the campus and the above is only a
preventive measure. |
