Turbulent Flows Through Channel

Problem Definition:

This problem considers the turbulent flow through a channel with a Reynolds number based on inlet height and inlet velocity of 13750. The schematic diagram has been shown in Fig. 1.1. The values of molecular dynamic viscosity (μ) is calculated from the following relation:

The velocity vector in channel flow is shown in Fig. 1.2(a). The results for this test case is compared with the results of Mansour et al. [1] and Kumar [2] in Fig. 1.2(b) and it is found to be in good agreement with the published results.
