    Note that this is over and above the basic qualification mentioned in the notification:
    (Any applicant not shortlisted as per the list above, who believes that he/she meets all the shortlisting criteria (above), are welcome to contact us ( or report in-person to Dept. office by 8.30 AM on 22nd May, 2018, with all the relevant documents as listed in the sample call letter. After verification, if found eligible, the candidate may proceed for the selection process.

  • Separate hostel accommodation (on payment basis) for Female/Male candidates will be provided in IITG hostels (Details will be updated later on).

    Please note the following points:

    • Please note that shortlisted candidates are requested to bring a Demand Draft for

      Rs.150/- for all female candidates,
      Rs.150/- for all SC/ST/PwD candidates
      Rs. 300/- for all other candidates

      from any nationalized bank, in favour of INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GUWAHATI, payable at Guwahati. The draft has to be submitted at the designated desk near physics office on 22nd May 2018 (i.e. on the day of the written test).

  • Accommodation will be provided only to the candidates. Parents / Guardians / Persons representing candidates are requested to make their own arrangements.
    Male candidates will be accommodated in Umiam Hostel
    Female candidates will be accommodated in Dhansiri Hostel
    You may also kindly note the following:
    (a) The participants has to arrange for their own bedding/pillow etc. in the hostel. For this purpose, you may contact Mr. Rajib - 9577313746 /9085481673; Mr. Hemanta - 9085566925; Mr. Dul: 9954862926. Note that arrangement of bedding will be done on payment basis.

    (b) The candidates may speak to the hostel mess caterers for food. Mess charges are Rs. 30/- for breakfast and Rs. 45/- for Lunch and Dinner (withRs. 5/- guest charge)..

  • For the candidates appearing for PhD interviews under regular category, the Travel Allowance (TA) (to-and-fro sleeper class railway fare or equivalent by the shortest route from the communication address to the Institute) will be paid through online transfer via bank to the savings bank account details furnished by the candidates. Candidates need to fill (i) TA form and (ii) Bank AC detail form and submit along with tickets of traveled part and Copy of tickets of return journey during the reporting time on 22nd May 2018
