Profile
I am a Research Scholar in Department of Physics, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. At present I am pursuing Ph.D in Statistical Mechanics and Soft Condensed Matter Physics under the supervision of Prof. Sitangshu Bikas Santra.
I have passed Secondary and Higher Secondary examination from Barasat (Near Kolkata) Mahatma Gandhi Memorial High School, under West Bengal State Board. Next I got Bachelor degree in Science (Hons. in Physics) from Scottish Church College Kolkata under University of Calcutta. Then I came to IIT Guwahati after clearing the JAM examination and acquired the Master of Science degree in Physics (M.Sc. Physics) from Department of Physics, IIT Guwahati. In 2012 I joined the Ph.D. program in Department of Physics, IIT Guwahati.

Research Work
My primary research interest is in the statistical mechanics of phase transitions and related areas. At present I am working on models of Ferromagnet to Paramagnet phase transition with various kind of disorder in different environments. I use mainly different variants of Monte Carlo Simulations methods and Mean field techniques to study correlated spin models in both at equilibrium and out of equilibrium situations.
As my research work involves extensive computation I had to use the following tools rigorously,
Interests
I found Linux very user friendly, customizable and Secure during my day by day work experience. The philosophy behind Linux, its Free and Open Source ecosystem, very strong community support really attracted me a lot and inspired me to know Linux better. Gradually I become interested in Linux System Administration. I really enjoy it.
I like to learn different computer programming languages and enjoy simulating physics problems in computer.
I enjoy creating webpages and playing with html in my idle times.
