Syllabus: Structure of a technical report; Do's and Don'ts; Planning and preparation; Word order; breaking up long sentences; structuring paragraphs and sentences; conciseness and removing redundancy; avoiding ambiguity and vagueness; clarifying who did what; highlighting the findings; hedging and criticism; paraphrasing and plagiarism; optimizing flow and connecting paraphrases; reference format and reference style in text; figure and table captions; style of writing headings and contents; case studies and laboratory exercises to write a technical report. Structure of a technical presentation; Do's and Don'ts; Principles of oral technical communication; Rules associated to Visuals, Tables and Bulleted text; Literature comparison; optimizing flow; optimizing content and presentation; mock presentations; presentation feedback policies; troubleshooting issues related to communication, technical depth, human-computer interaction and timing; case studies and laboratory exercises for a technical presentation.
