Syllabus: Power semiconductor devices: Diode, Thyristor, Triac, GTO, MOSFET, IGBT; AC to DC Conversion: Uncontrolled and line-commutated Thyristor based rectifiers, Issues of line current harmonics, Power factor, Distortion factor, THD; AC to AC Conversion: AC voltage regulators and Cyclo-converters; DC to DC conversion: Buck, Boost and Buck-Boost converters, Isolated and non-isolated converters; DC to AC Conversion: Single phase and three phase inverters, Sinusoidal pulse width modulation; Bidirectional Power converters.
