Research Areas
The Centre for Indian Knowledge Systems will focus on several different research and practice areas that will evolve as the Center grows and formulates over the next several years.
The six areas of study that have been identified at its inception include:
- Documentation of traditional knowledge systems in India with a primary focus on Northeast India
- Identifying links between the knowledge systems and the community as they relate to capacity building.
- The interplay between indigenous and western knowledge systems in relation to economic development.
- The study of different factors that influence attitudes and behaviors towards the indigenous knowledge systems.
- Diffusion of ideas in the domain of science and technology and traditional knowledge systems of India.
- Develop a Communities Educational Partners program.
