This laboratory consists of an 18 m long x 4 m wide flume, designed to carry out fluvial hydrodynamic, morphologic as well as ecological studies. With variable discharge capabilities along with different bed conditions, this flume can be used to study the vegetated as well as non-vegetated flood plain main channel interactions. It also features seepage control facilities and an adjustable tail gate to control the flow parameters within the channel. Due to its continuous recirculating water mechanism, morphological studies for several days can also be carried out.
