IEEE Photonics Society Student Chapter

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, Assam, India

The IEEE Photonic Society Student Chapter, IIT Guwahati came into existence on 26th of January, 2019 officially, at the premise of the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati due to a proposal brought forward by Dr. Gagan Kumar and some like-minded research scholars of the department of physics. Starting with a small group of student members we hope to build up strength over the years by bringing together scientific minds of the arena of photonics. At its core, the chapter functions to provide networking opportunities to student members in their areas of interest and future professions. With a vision to organize events, workshops, conferences and outreach program to further popularize photonics in the northeast region of India, the members of the IIT Guwahati student chapter hope to achieve their goals in the years to come.
