Phylogenetic Description of Curcuma

Member of Curcuma genus are though morphologically distinguished but the distance calculated based on sequence dissimilarity was forund to be very low. This is not very surprising keeping the point in consideration that they all have overlapping flowering time and some what similar flower morphology.

The phylogenetic tree reconstructed over Kimura 2 distance calculated by pairwise allignment using Neighbor Joining method of tree construction.
