Alumni from various sectors are invited to the campus to engage with the IITG student community. It is designed to cater to the needs of the students and answer their queries about Career Options, Placements, Pursuing Interests, Academia, etc. Students are encouraged to take part in the discussion and make the best use of the opportunity to understand and experience the perspective of our alumni.
It can be challenging for the speakers to find time in their busy schedules to visit the college and engage with the students on campus. To address this issue, SAIL holds webinars where the speaker can interact with the audience from the comfort of their own home or workplace. Webinars are topic-specific, and available on SAIL’s YouTube Channel.
The Graduation Tea Party, or GTP, is the graduating class's formal parting celebration. Every year, SAIL organizes the Graduation Tea Party in the month of April. While emotions and applause turn this occasion into a lifelong memory, it also serves as a benchmark for the commencement of a new beginning.
IITG welcomes a large number of international interns and exchange students throughout the year and actively promotes their stay during the academic/summer semesters. International Students' Day is a yearly event put on by SAIL, celebrated in November, when students from outside the subcontinent take part in a variety of activities and showcase their talents. Celebrating diversity reflects how unique IIT Guwahati’s tradition is.
The last note in the modal melody symbolizes the years spent in college. It is an event that is exclusively for the final year students, where everyone comes together in the month of April for one last time, to create everlasting memories, and to celebrate and cherish all that makes college life what it is. It is undoubtedly a fun-filled evening with cultural performances, award ceremonies, roasts, and many other events.
The goal of Student Alumni Meets, or SAMs, is to improve communication between alumni and students. They are held in several cities. SAM chapters have been held in many locations, including Singapore, Delhi, Mumbai, and Bangalore.
