Research Focus

The research in my group is centered around on Hardware development for Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI). The key focus is on the development of affordable devices for MRI which is realised using low-field technologies. There are few key research themes:

  • Development of simulation tools (digital twins) to simulate and test virtual the performance of our hardware.
  • Development of hardware components: Front end units and backend instrumentation (i.e. (RF-) Amplifiers, Spectrometer, ADC, LNAs etc.)
  • Exploring possible clinical applications: How to transfer the units into clinical use and exploration of crucial boundary conditions that need to be fulfilled

Key publications

  • Gradient-induced mechanical vibration of neural interfaces during MRI
  • Should patients with brain implants undergo MRI?
  • 3D carbon scaffolds for neural stem cell culture and magnetic resonance imaging
  • Automatic adaptive gain for magnetic resonance sensitivity enhancement
  • Glassy carbon microelectrodes minimize induced voltages, mechanical vibrations, and artifacts in magnetic resonance imaging
