Dr. Vhatkar earned his Ph.D. in Operations and Supply Chain Management from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Mumbai. He also holds an M.tech in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research from Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, and a B.E. in Mechanical Engineering from Shivaji University, Kolhapur. Dr. Vhatkar comes to IIT Guwahati after serving as Assistant Professor at the Department of Operations and Supply Chain Management, GITAM School of Business, Hyderabad. His doctoral dissertation focused on Leveraging Sustainable Performance in Omnichannel Retail Supply Chain Through Digital Transformation. Dr. Vhatkar specialises in supply chain management, operations research and management, supply chain performance, omnichannel retail strategy, optimization, modelling, machine learning, deep learning, artificial intelligence, analytics, structural equation modelling and multi-criteria decision making. Dr. Vhatkar has published several research articles in reputed A- and Q1-ranked journals and is actively engaged in advancing both theoretical and practical knowledge in supply chain management, operations and analytics.
