We are very happy to announce that SPIE Events will be held on 8th and 9th of December, 2017. This will consists of one visiting lecture series by Prof Nirmal K Viswanathan, Central University, Hyderabad, and a poter session on Frontier in Optical Science & Technology.

About the Speaker

Prof.Nirmal K Biswanathan received his Ph.D. degree in Physics from University of Hyederabad, India in 1997. He was at Center for Advanced Material (CAM), Universityof Massachusetts t Lowell,UsA as Post-Doctoral Reasearcher from 19997-1999. From 1999-2000 he was at Center for High Technology Materials (CHTM), University of New Mexico, Albuquerque, USA as Research Associate. After working as Senior Research Engineer in the field of R & D activities to improve the performance of fiber Bragg grating (FBG)-based devices for telecom applications, he joined IRDE. Dehradun back in India. After a brief period in IRDE and IIT Madras, he joined School of Physics, University of Hyderbad as Reader in 2006 and continued his research there.
His current research interest includes generation of optical beams with embedded amplitude, phase and polarization singularities using optical fibers and free-space optics and their applications.

Poster session on Frontier in Optical Science & Technology

A poster session will be held on 9th of december at the foyer of the depart of physics, IIT guwahati. Participants from the SERB School on Frontiersin Quantum Opticson are encouraged to take part in the poster session. There will be exciting prizes for the 1st, 2nd, 3rd positions.
Those who want to take part in the poster session are requested to send their abstract to the mail id "spieiitgsc@gmail.com"
