Report on the Visit of Hanyang University Students to IIT Guwahati
On January 17, 2025, a group of 42 students from Hanyang University, South Korea, arrived at the IIT Guwahati for a six-week internship program. The group was led by Prof. Frank Rhee and included students participating in internships in the Electronics & Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, and Biosciences & Bioengineering Departments.
To mark the commencement of their internship, an orientation session was organized. The session was presided over by Prof. Ankush Bag, the Faculty Coordinator for the program, who formally welcomed the students. Prof. Bag provided a comprehensive briefing about the internship schedule, introduced the assigned mentors, and explained the academic and research opportunities available to the students during their time at IIT Guwahati.
Prof. Deepak Sharma, Associate Dean of Alumni & External Relations, addressed the international students, sharing essential information regarding their stay. He highlighted the campus facilities and provided guidance on administrative and logistical matters to ensure a comfortable and enriching experience for the visiting group.
Prof. A. Perumal, Dean of Students’ Affairs, concluded the session by sharing his insights about life on campus. He encouraged the students to actively engage in academic and extracurricular activities and make the most of their time at IIT Guwahati.
The visit of the Hanyang University students underscores the growing collaboration between IIT Guwahati and international academic institutions, fostering cross-cultural learning and research partnerships. This initiative is expected to contribute significantly to the academic and personal growth of the participating students.
