IIT Guwahati hosts a number of foreign interns and exchange students throughout the year and encourages them to spend summer/academic semesters at IITG. Undergraduate and postgraduate students of IITG also do internship with universities, industries and research labs abroad.

IIT Guwahati students have lots of opportunities to excel in their career through international scholarship programs like KOSPIE, ANU/FRT awards, Raman-Charpak Fellowship, Shraman Foundation Scholarship, to name a few.

It also encourages qualified foreign students, on scholarship and self-financed basis to join full time Master’s and PhD programs in its academic departments.
