IITG Alumni Guwahati chapter hosted an alumni meet

The IITG Alumni Guwahati Chapter recently hosted an alumni meet that brought together around 30 participants, including 20 alumni from IIT Guwahati. This meet aimed to foster connections and discussions among alumni based at IITG and nearby institutions, setting the groundwork for future, larger gatherings.
The meet commenced with a welcome address by the chapter head, followed by addresses from the Director, the Dean, and the Associate Dean of the Alumni and External Relations (AER) section. Following these addresses, alumni had an opportunity to introduce themselves, allowing everyone to connect on a personal level and share brief updates about their professional journeys. A highlight of the event was the Director’s inauguration of the IITG Alumni Newsletter, which will serve as a communication bridge, keeping alumni informed of the institute’s progress and upcoming opportunities. The event then proceeded with two alumni presentations, where they shared their professional journeys and personal experiences post-IITG, offering insights and inspiration to fellow attendees. Additionally, one alumnus screened a documentary that showcased her work.
The meet concluded with a brainstorming session where participants discussed potential next steps and strategies for organizing a more extensive alumni meet in the future and also discussed on the issue of raising funds. This initial meet was intended as a quick, informal gathering, primarily for those in close proximity to IIT Guwahati. The next meet will focus on reaching out to a wider group of alumni to build a larger, more inclusive network.
