Dr. Gurdeep Singh, IITG alumnus has been awarded the GYTI Award

Dr. Gurdeep Singh, a former Ph.D. Scholar of the Department of Design, IIT Guwahati, has been awarded the #gandhianyoungtechnologicalinnovation (GYTI Award) Appreciation 2023 at the award ceremony held at the India International Centre, New Delhi, on 5th November 2024. GYTI Awards celebrates the spirit of student innovation in all the fields of engineering, science, technology, and design through extremely affordable/ frugal solutions or those pushing the technological edge.

Dr. Gurdeep Singh's exceptional contributions to the Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) promotion through his innovative design interventions in the Indian Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) sector have been well acknowledged globally and have brought him such accolades and laurels. This work is a part of his recently completed Ph.D. titled "Innovative Design Interventions to Address Safety-related Issues in FMCG Industrial Shopfloor: Ergonomics Perspective."
Prof. (Dr.) Sougata Karmakar, Professor and Head, Department of Design, was his Ph.D. Supervisor.
