PanIIT World of Technology Conference: Visions for a promising tomorrow

This one-day event intends to bring together IIT alumni, researchers, young innovators, entrepreneurs, and delegates from universities and technical colleges of northeastern India, in a grand showcase of innovation and collaborative deliberations with representatives from the government and social organizations, investors, and business leaders. Our premier attraction will be an expo of technological and research innovations showcasing a researchers’ pavilion, students’ pavilion and also a visitor’s pavilion. The two technology incubation centres of IITG will also feature in the exposition. The day will feature a keynote lecture, panel discussions, fire side chats, and pitches by young IITians. |

About IITG: Indian Institution of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995 and during the last 30 years following its inception, IIT Guwahati, has come a long way in terms of teaching and research, and producing world leaders in the field of science, technology, entrepreneurship and public service. Our campus is on a sprawling 285 hectares plot of land on the north bank of the river Brahmaputra around 20 kms from the heart of the city. With the majestic Brahmaputra on one side, and with hills and vast open spaces on others, the campus provides an ideal setting for learning. The one-day PIWOT event at IIT Guwahati is a satellite conference of the Global PanIIT Conference PIWOT, scheduled to be held in Mumbai during January 17-19, 2025. Spearheaded by the Wheels Foundation and PanIIT Alumni India, the CII (Confederation of Indian Industries) is also partnering in the venture in order to foster IIT-Industry collaboration for research and application of advanced technologies for India’s industrial leadership. IIT Guwahati aspires to bring the fervour of this global event to North Eastern India. Having been a beacon of world class education and technological innovations in the North Eastern part of the country, IIT Guwahati endeavours to provide this global platform to our own community and the other premier institution and organizations of the region At IIT Guwahati, you will have opportunity to visit many exciting research centers such as Centre for Drone Technology, Centre for Intelligent Cyber-Physical Systems, Centre for Intelligent CyberPhysical Systems, Centre for Linguistic Science and Technology, Centre for Nanotechnology, Centre for Sustainable Polymers, Centre for Sustainable Water Research, Centre for the Environment, Technology Incubation Center. The research park at IIT Guwahati is the first park to be set up in NE India to promote the advancement of technology-based innovators, entrepreneurs and small & large companies through customized space, shared equipment, incubation, mentorship and funding. Our faculty and researchers will be keen to discuss their ongoing research in numerous cutting-edge topics such as converting crop residue to biogas at-scale, high-value foodproducts (e.g., turmeric milk extract, functional unripe papaya) from unique produce from North East regions, agro-based green concrete, IoT driven mobile-edge networks, improving stutter detection in audio recordings, Hand-function assessment using computer vision for hand rehabilitation, and Glaucoma screening in fundus images using image segmentation. |

You may also want to supplement your IIT-Guwahati visit with recreational visits to wellknown nearby places such as world-famous Kaziranga National Park, Kamakhya Temple, Pobitora Wildlife Santuary, Dipor Bil (lake), and Umananda Temple. Our campus is conveniently located from airport (about 25 Kms and 40-min drive). Besides ample capacity in our on-campus guest houses, nearby Guwahati City (19 Kms away with 30 mins drive) offers numerous world-class hotels. |
