ERNET PoP at IIT Guwahati
ERNET India (Educational Research Network of India), an autonomous society under Department of Information Technology, Ministry of Communication & IT, Government of India is providing Internet access to Education and Research community in the country. ERNET is a nation-wide terrestrial and satellite network with points of presence located in major cities. ERNET backbone is being upgraded to cater for growing bandwidth requirements and the satellite network is being expanded to offer Internet access in remote areas. Focus of ERNET is not limited to just providing connectivity, but to meet entire needs of the education and research institutions by hosting and providing relevant information to their users. R&D and Training are integral parts of ERNET activities.
ERNET offers complete range of Internet services to education and research institutions. These services are available from ERNETthrough various connectivity options to suit different user needs. Along with this web hosting, mail hosting, domain registration etc. are also available through ERNET.
ERNET PoP at Guwahati
The ERNET backbone connects 15 Points of Presence (PoP) located all over the country. All users are connected to the nearest PoPfor ERNET connectivity. Guwahati PoP is one of them situated in IIT Guwahati for the service of entire North Eastern region of India.

All the connectivity through VSAT are maintained from Bangalore (STPI), PoP of ERNET India.
