Information
Guwahati, which is the gateway for North East
India, is well connected by air, rail and road with the rest
of the country. There are direct air services from/to New
Delhi, Kolkata and Mumbai with connectivity to all major
cities in the country. Direct train services are available
from/to all major metropolis, cities in the country. Indian
Airlines, Jet Airways, Jetlite, Kingfisher, Spice Jet and
Indigo operate regular flights to and from Guwahati.
The Institute is located on the outskirts of
the city of Guwahati, in the North Bank of Brahmaputra and can
be reached conveniently. It is around 25 km from the heart of
the city and around 45 min drive from the airport.
Commuting to the Institute from the city
From the Airport: Taxies, prepaid taxies,
hired cars are available to reach the Institute.
From the Railway Station: Apart from the above
mentioned transportations, IIT Guwahati also has its own
transporation facilities to ply to and from IIT Guwahati
campus from/to the city. The bus to IITG campus starts from
Pan Bazar Water Tank (PBWT) in front of Hotel President,
Panbazar, Guwahati city.
