The IIT Guwahati SPE Student Chapter was founded in 2016 with a vision to fulfil the mission of SPE International — “To collect, disseminate, and exchange technical knowledge regarding exploration, development, and production of Oil & Gas resources, and related technologies for the public benefit and to provide opportunities for students & professionals to enhance their technical and professional expertise.”

We aim to foster an environment that nurtures talent, sparks creativity, and encourages students to take up exciting careers in the oil and gas industry. The chapter bridges the gap between industry and academia through events, competitions, and industrial visits, striving to improve petroleum engineering education across northeast India.
