The Department of Civil Engineering since its formation is committed to quality education, and research and development in civil engineering. The vision of the department is to give best exposure to budding civil technocrats to various challenges in the profession. The department offers courses at undergraduate, graduate and doctoral level. The department offers postgraduate courses in the field of: Transportation Systems Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Structural Engineering, Water Resource Engineering, and Environmental Engineering. The department also handles consultancy works and sponsored research projects.
Two separate laboratories for Traffic Engineering and Pavement Engineering are functional with important equipments to provide best laboratory facilities to cater to the needs of the students and researchers. Latest software like MX Roads, HDM-IV, TRANSYT, HCS, TSIS, MapInfo are available in the department. Effort is going on to procure more sophisticated instruments and software to build state-of-art lab. facilities.
