| Department of Design, IIT Guwahati organized a week long interaction session on Graphic Design under its Quality Improvement Programme (QIP)as a Short Term Course. This programme, coordinated by D.Udaya Kumar, Assistant Professor was held from 6th to 10th February 2012. Participants included teachers of prominent Engineering Colleges approved by AICTE and some attendees from Industries and Govt. departments. The objective of the short term course was to create awareness about Graphic Design and understand its role and importance in our education system.
The short term course helped participants in organizing and visualizing their teaching material for easy communication with the intended audience. The course encompassed basic understanding of
graphic design – its role and importance in communication, elements and principles of visual design, presentation techniques and applications of graphic design. Faculty members of Department of Design, IIT Guwahati and guest faculty members from other premier Institutions delivered lectures. The programme also provided a platform for academicians and professionals from various fields to interact and exchange their views and ideas on the subject. |
