Department Administration
The administration of the Department of Design, IIT Guwahati, is structured to ensure smooth academic and operational functioning. The following faculty members currently hold key administrative responsibilities:
- Head of the Department (HoD):
Prof. Pratul Chandra Kalita
Provides strategic leadership and oversees all academic, research, and administrative affairs of the department.
- Department Postgraduate Program Committee (DPPC) Secretary:
Dr. Sheetal Gokhale
Coordinates and manages the academic processes of the M.Des. and Ph.D. programs.
- Department Undergraduate Program Committee (DUPC) Secretary:
Dr. Santosh Jagtap
Oversees academic planning and coordination of the B.Des. program.
- Faculty Advisor, M.Des. (Regular):
Dr. Supradip Das
Provides academic guidance and support to students enrolled in the regular M.Des. program.
- Faculty Advisor, M.Des. (Electronic Product Design - EPD):
Dr. Debayan Dhar
Mentors students in the specialized EPD stream of the M.Des. program.
- Faculty Advisors, B.Des. Program:
Dr. Sheetal Gokhale and Dr. Pankaj Upadhyay
Jointly support and guide undergraduate students through the B.Des. program.
- Timetable Coordinator:
Dr. Abhishek Singh
Manages and coordinates the department’s academic schedule and class timetables.
Together, these faculty members along with the dedicated staff members collectively ensure the effective delivery of academic programs and contribute to fostering a supportive and well-organized learning environment in the department.
