Color Image Processing with Biomedical Applications

Abstract-This lecture presents an introduction to computer processing of color
images, with a special interest in biomedical applications. Introductory topics include the nature of color and
color images, perception and representation of color, and acquisition of color images. The image processing
topics include filtering to remove noise, contrast enhancement, and segmentation. The topics are illustrated
with several examples including biomedical applications.
The lecture serves as an introduction to and review of the textbook
