Kalpana did her BTech from SGSITS Indore in Mechanical Engineering in 2012. After that, she worked in an automobile company, MAN trucks Pvt. Ltd. (2012 – 2013). She did her Masters from IIT Guwahati in Machine design specialization of Mechanical Engineering in 2015. Thereafter, she worked as an Assistant Professor in Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology university. She joined her PhD at National Taiwan University in Mechanical Design group of Mechanical Engineering in September 2017 with the Outstanding International Doctoral Student scholarship. She is currently pursuing her doctoral research on the industrial applications of Augmented Reality. She has published two SCI journals so far. During her PhD, she has received two awards, CTCI Foundation and Chung Hwa Rotary Educational Foundation.
