Speaker Bio:

Professor Sanjeev Chandra is a highly distinguished faculty member in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at the University of Toronto, which he joined in 1990 after receiving his Ph.D. from Cornell University. He is internationally recognized for his pioneering research in the dynamics of droplets and sprays and is a co-founder of the Centre for Advanced Coating Technologies. His research integrates fluid mechanics, heat transfer, and materials science, with applications spanning spray coating, additive manufacturing, ink-jet printing, and electronic cooling. A prolific author with over 350 publications, Prof. Chandra has received numerous honors, including the Brockhouse Canada Prize (2010), the Jules Stachiewicz Medal (2015), and the Robert W. Angus Medal (2020). He is a respected Fellow of multiple professional societies, including the Canadian Academy of Engineering and the American Society of Mechanical Engineers.
