Regional Children's Science Congress - 2022
100 selected students from Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya from the entire N.E. Region participated in the Regional Children's Science Congress-2022 held at IIT Guwahati. The inaugural function was graced by Prof. S.K. Kakoty, Dy. Director, IIT Guwahati as Chief Guest, and Mr. Gunamani Das, Dy. Registrar, IIT Guwahati and Mr. Aditya Prakash Singh, Asstt. Commissioner as Guests of Honour. The Congress also included visit of students to Central Instruments Facility, IIT Guwahati and to Regional Science Centre, Khanapara and Guwahati Planetarium. The Congress concluded with a Valedictory Function with Prof. P.K. Iyer, Dean, Public Relations Branding & Ranking as Chief Guest.

5 Days Residential Science Teachers Training
The first phase of '5 Days Residential Science Teachers Training' program was organised at IIT Guwahati in collaboration with Samagra Shiksha Assam. Around 200 teachers participated in the in-house training programme. Dr. Ranoj Pegu, Hon'ble Minister of Education, Govt. of Assam attended the Valedictory Function held on 14th October, 2022 and handed over the certificates to the participants.

SSB sponsored educational tour programme
24 Bn SSB, Rangia organised an excursion cum study tour for 30 girl students from bordering villages of Tamulpur and Udalguri districts. As part of the tour program the team visited IITG and the students had an interactive session with Deputy Director, Dean(OEP), and DR(OEP) of IITG.

State Meet of Aryabhatta Science Centre organised by Assam Science Technology & Environment Council (ASTEC)
Selected students from different development blocks of 34 districts of Assam participated in the state-level program which had in its schedule different competitions and exhibitions like speech competition, poster drawing competition, S&T model making competition cum exhibition, idea competition, etc. Some of the learned professors of IITG judged the competitions. Inaugural function of the program was attended by many dignitaries including Sjt. Keshab Mahanta, Hon'ble Minister of Science Technology and Climate Change Dept, Govt. of Assam and Smt. Laya Madduri, IAS, Sec'y to Govt. of Assam, Science Technology and Climate Change Dept, Govt. of Assam.

Visit from Harekrishna Mandir, North Guwahati
Students from Gurukul of Hare Krishna Mandir North Guwahati visited IITG to attend an exhibition organised by Centre for Indian Knwoledge System (CIKS) at the Conference Conference.

SSB sponsored educational tour programme
23rd Bn SSB, Lalpool, Udalguri organised ‘देश के बात- एस. एस. बी. के साथ’ programme under which 20 students of bordering area were given the opportunity to visit IITG along with some other important places in Guwahati.

Northeast Institutional Heads Conclave
Institutional Heads of CFTIs of Northeast India congregated here for a two-day conclave. As many as five MoUs were signed by IITG during the conclave with CIT Kokrajhar, NEHU Shillong, NIT Mizoram, IASST Guwahati and NIT Manipur respectively.

An optics outreach programme-Symposium V- was held at Bodoland University.

Visit to Flood Relief Camp
In order to relieve stress of young campers, a visit to a flood relief camp at Goroimari was organised. Science related activities were held to amuse the young campers.

Workshop for school teachers in mathematics
A workshop for school teachers was held at Golaghat, Assam and was attended by more than thirty-five teachers from fifteen different schools. The workshop consisted of four interactive sessions and the attending teachers greatly benefited from it.

Workshop with FICE INTEL
IITG in collaboration with Foundation for Innovative and Collaborative Education (FICE), INTEL conducted a 3-month programme to bridge the innovation gap between leading urban schools and the schools that cater to the not-so-priviledged children. The programme focused on six(6) nearby schools and conducted several workshops and meeting to work with the students in preparing science projects including microprocessor based electronics projects based on Intel Galileo Boards.
