Amarendra Kumar Sarma is a member of the following research group and research areas:

Research areas

  • Nonlinear and Quantum Optics (Theory); Quantum Optomechanics, Optical Force, Cavity QED, Coherent control, Extreme Nonlinear Optics, Solitons, Nonlinear Fiber Optics, Nonlinear Dynamics, Plasmonics and Transformation Optics, Parity-time Symmetric Optics.

The manipulation of quantum states of macroscopic objects, coherent control of atoms, quantum entanglement in optomechanical systems, shortcuts to adiabatic passage methods etc. are some of the key areas where the group has contributed. Apart from that, the research group is focused on studying parity-time symmetric optics. Solitary waves and modulation instability phenomena in nonlinear waveguide system is another key focus area of the group. Overall, the group is engaged in both fundamental and applied research related to frontier topics in the broad area of nonlinear and quantum optics.
