Rajshree Bedamatta is Professor of Economics & Development Studies at the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences, Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati. She joined IIT Guwahati in 2010 and is involved in undergraduate and post graduate teaching, research, and sponsored projects and consultancies. She is additionally an Associate Faculty at the Centre for Disaster Management and Research and the School of Business, IIT Guwahati. Her academic training is in the field of Development Economics. Her research interests are at the intersection of Development Economics and its socio-political correlates, including but not limited to, agriculture and rural development, rural labour markets, health workforce and health equity, food security, and the political economy of digital technologies in the implementation of welfare programmes in India. Prior to joining IIT Guwahati, she worked briefly as Senior Lecturer at the School of Rural Management, KIIT University, Bhubaneswar and as Post-Doctoral Researcher, Foundation for Agrarian Studies, Kolkata (currently in Bengaluru). Her doctoral studies were undertaken with junior and senior research fellowship from the Indian Statistical Institute.
