The Society for Polymer Science, India (SPSI) was established as a professional society in March 1979 with a mandate to promote the general advancement of science and technology of polymers in the country and to provide a forum for exchange of information amongst the members and persons attached to the Society. SPSI functions through different regional chapters across India and the North East (NE) chapter is a new addition to it. SPSI-NE-Chapter aims to carry out various activities related to polymers and plastics and create awareness for judicial use of plastics, particularly in the northeastern part of India.
This chapter further aims to act as a forum where polymer scientists and technologists from academia, research laboratories, and industry in the northeastern states can gather to hold discussions, exchange ideas, and disseminate information on the current challenges and opportunities in the field of polymer science and technology.
