The Space Technology Cell was established after signing the MoU by Prof. Gautam Biswas, Director, IIT Guwahati and Dr P V Venkitakrishnan, Director, Capacity Building Programme Office (CBPO), Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) Head Quarter, on 24th May 2019 at IIT Guwahati to develop an ecosystem for research activities in Space Science, Space Technology, and Space applications with special emphasis on geoinformatics applications in Northeast region.
