I'm a Ph.D. student in the Civil Engineering Department at Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Guwahati, India. I received my B.Tech degree in Civil Engineering from College of Engineering Pune, Maharashtra. I did my masters in Water Resources Engineering at National Institute of Technology (NIT) Rourkela, India. While pursuing masters, I discovered my passion for research. I decided to go for Ph D. and joined Water Resources Engineering specialization at the IIT, Guwahati in 2019 under the supervision of Dr. Sreeja Pekkat. I'm conferred with the prestigious Prime Minister's Research Fellowship awarded to the country's excellent doctoral candidates for pursuing research.
My current work involves hydrologic time series modelling. The aim is to forecast rainfall so that more time is available to take real-time measures, vital for water resource planning and management. Every year, northeast India is exposed to extreme flood events, which indirectly affects the economy of our nation. Through my work, I'm aiming to tackle the damages due to extreme weather events by early forecast.
