IIT Guwahati celebrates its 31st Foundation Day
Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati celebrated it's 31st Foundation Day on 1st September, 2024. Lt. Gen. Rana Pratap Kalita, PVSM, UYSM, AVSM, SM, VSM (Retd.), and former GOC in Chief of the Eastern Command of the Indian Army, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and enthralled the audience with his encouraging speech. Shri Bhaskar Jyoti Phukan, the Managing Director of Numaligarh Refinery Limited, the Guest of Honor, spoke about sustainable energy being the need of the hour. The Director, IIT Guwahati, Prof. Devendra Jalihal announced the Alumni Awards 2024 on the occasion. Earlier, the Dean of Alumni & External Relations while welcoming the guests spoke about the history of the institute, and acknowledged all those who contributed to its establishment. A chorus was presented by ladies of the campus community and classical dance performances by IIT Guwahati students.
