Location

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati is located just on the outskirts of the city of Guwahati and is well connected to other parts of the country by road, rail or air.

There are direct air services from/to Mumbai, New Delhi and Kolkata with connectivity to all major cities in the country and direct train services from/to all the metropolis and other major cities. Air India, Jet Airways, Jetlite, Kingfisher, IndiGo, SpiceJet and GoAir operate regular flights to and from Guwahati.

It is around 20 km from the heart of the city and around 40 min drive from the airport. To reach the institute from the city, there is an Institute bus service that runs regularly to and from the city.

How to reach

If travelling by Train

After reaching Paltan Bazar Railway station, participants can take pre-paid/post-paid taxis to IIT Guawhati.(Auto-rickshaws are aso available) Or if they want to avail the Institute bus service, they have to reach Don Bosco School, Panbazar which is about 1.1Km(approx.) from railway station. From there, participants can board the IITG Bus service. After reaching IIT Guwahati, participants can contact the person mentioned above.

If travelling by air

Getting to the IITG from the airport (which may take around 40 minutes) will cost around Rs.600 in a pre-paid taxi available in the airport. After reaching IIT Guwahati, particiapants can contact the person mentioned above.
