The AER office is responsible for devising campaigns and coordinates for generating funds for the development and financial support of IIT Guwahati. The office helps to generate funds from a wide range of donors through gifts, regular contribution and legacy giving. These funds are for the Institute to:
- Invest in equipment, build infrastructures and other facilities for the students
- Serve the student community by facilitating mentorships with alumni and administering scholarships, awards and funds for student travel, projects, etc.
- Promote research & consultancy relationships between faculty & alumni and interactions between visiting faculty and local alumni.
Gurudakshina
We are pleased to launch the Gurudakshina program, for the students and alums of IITG. If you are a final year student, you can pledge one month of your salary or 1% of your profits in business, to your institution. According to your convenience you may pledge to pay the amount in your 1st/2nd/3rd/4th/ nth year after your graduation. You will receive a certificate for your pledge.
If you are an alumni, and have established yourself in life, do contribute to the development of your alma mater by donating one month’s salary or 1% of business profits. Donors (with a minimum donation of Rs 1 lakh) will be acknowledged in a public function and receive framed certificates. Contributions from this donation will be distributed amongst institute endowment fund, parent department, hostel (last hostel or most favorite of alum), and IITG Alumni Association.
Institute Development: Endowment
We are looking to establish an endowment fund for development activities of the institution and also act as a corpus for our future endeavours. IITG’s endowment fund will be intended to support its scholars with the resources needed to advance knowledge, research and innovation. As such, endowment funds shall be used for Institute activities including aiding student’s education, research, campus renovation etc.
Student Aid
IIT Guwahati houses the best of brains in the country in its undergraduate and graduate programs. However, some of these students are financial constrained from pursuing higher education at IIT Guwahati. Student Aid of the Institute focuses on lending a helping hand to these meritorious students in fulfilling their ambition of pursuing higher education.
Batch Legacy
It is a very thoughtful way to honour one’s alma mater. This is a call to get together with one’s batchmates and support the batch legacy project. The project could be one of your dream projects associated with the upkeep and betterment of the Institute.
Emergency Fund
This fund is meant to meet the pressing exigencies mainly due to medical emergencies of students, faculty, staff members including temporary outsourced staff (security, cleaning, canteen, hostel). It is a great way to express your solidarity with the IIT Guwahati family.
