Gurgenius Kapoor is a Master’s student studying at the Department of Design, IIT Guwahati where he is pursuing his research on affective sciences as part of the Media Lab. Before his masters, he was practicing as an architect based in Chandigarh. He seeks inspiration from Biophilic Design and has also been part of green architecture workshops overseas. Apart from his ventures in architecture, his interests lie in exploring the role of digital fabrication as well as frugal engineering in industrial design. Currently he aims to uncover the underlying framework of culture as a construct in understanding personal patterns of expression.
Validation of Emotion AI in Indian Context
Understanding the emotions and expressions of a group of people can become a means of revealing
the fundamental makeup of their culture. He aims to identify these diverse layers of personality
hidden deep within the subconscious and quantify them with the help of machine learning and
artificial intelligence for accurate affect recognition.
