Foreigner’s Registration

How to register with Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO)? 

1. All international students must contact the AER Office (eroffice@iitg.ac.in and hosaa@iitg.ac.in) immediately after their registration at the Institute within 24 hours so that their details can be updated as per government guidelines. 
2. All international students, including international students of Indian origin, must have an appropriate Student and Research Visa. 
3. International students are required to register themselves with the local Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO) within 14 days of arrival at the campus (days should be counted from the date of arrival). 
4. A letter issued to the student from the Academic Affairs Section of IITG about registration information and period of stay in the IITG campus is to be presented to the Foreigners Registration Office. 
5. Pakistani nationals are required to do foreigners registration within 24 hours and for Afghan nationals within 7 days of their arrival at the campus. Nepalese and Bhutanese nationals do not require foreigner’s registration.
