Assam Academy of Mathematics (AAM)

 

Assam Academy of Mathematics (AAM), established in 1986, is a society of teachers, students and people interested in Mathematics in Assam, striving to popularize Mathematics in school level. This non-pro t organization engages the students and teachers in mathematics through its activities such as holding of Mathematics Olympiad and other competitions, publication of magazines and study materials and organizing training programmes and workshops. I am a life member of the Academy since 1992; acted as Treasurer during 1994{1999, involved in all activities including organization of Mathematics Olympiad and publication of the biannual magazine Ganit Bikash during 199 to 1999.

• Contributed a number of popular articles for Ganit Bikash.

• Acted as Academic Coordinator of its Golden Jubilee Celebration Committee, 2010-2011; Organized a series of eight Instructional Schools funded by NBHM titled Excursions in Mathematics for school students during July, 2010 - July, 2011 across the state of Assam as part of the Silver Jubilee celebration of the Academy.

• Delivered invited talks in the open sessions in Annual Congress of the Academy in recent years
