The Focus Group Discussion (FGD) aims to explore the opportunities and challenges associated with the solarization of rural feeders in Assam and identify practical pathways for large-scale implementation. The discussion will bring together experts from utilities, government agencies, academia, industry, financial institutions, and local stakeholders to deliberate on technical, economic, policy, and institutional aspects of feeder-level solar integration.
1. To understand the Technical Feasibility and Grid readiness for feeder solarization: This session will focus on the technical requirements for integrating solar power into rural distribution systems.
2. To generate practical Assam-Specific Models for Feeder-Level Solarization: Recognizing the unique socio-economic and geographical conditions of Assam and explore specific solarization models such as mixed-use feeder solarization, tea garden-based solar systems, and agrovoltaics approaches for the state's rural and peri-urban regions.
3. To understand the Policy, Financing and Institutional Mechanisms: This session will examine existing policy frameworks, financing opportunities and role of DISCOM that can accelerate feeder solarization.
