About Centre for Creativity

To many people in many cultures, music is an important part of their way of life. Ancient Greek and Indian philosophers defined music as tones ordered horizontally as melodies and vertically as harmonies. Common sayings such as “it is music to my ears" point to the notion that music is ordered and pleasant to listen to. Dancing can help us jump our brain to overdrive. Left side of the Brain is analytical and logical while right side of the Brain is creative and triggers the sense of aesthetics. Dancing is great at involving the entire Brain to function simultaneously – from musical and kin-esthetic, to rational and emotional. For the “Performing Arts” The tutelage needs to be sequential, to develop skills and understanding of creating, performing, and responding. The pedagogy provides opportunities for students to make connections among the arts, with other disciplines within the core curriculum, and with artistic resources in the community.
