Ephemeral architecture, circularity, frugal innovation, context-responsive design
“Architecture is the learned game, correct and magnificent, of forms assembled in the light.”
— Le Corbusier, Towards a New Architecture
Sanchari Kar is an architect with a B.Arch and an M.Arch in Habitat Design, trained in sustainable design, material systems and contextual practice.
She has taught at several universities and worked as a consultant architect in Odisha and Assam. Her work centres on ephemeral architecture — the temporary built environments of India and what they reveal about resourcefulness, cultural expression and sustainability. Her research addresses circularity, frugal innovation and context-responsive design, and how traditional knowledge can inform future architectural frameworks.
She is pursuing a PhD under Dr. Mriganka Madhukaillya at IIT Guwahati.
