The IIT Guwahati team started fabricating its first racing car with sound design philosophy and engineering techniques. The fabrication started well before the event which was slated to happen from 15-19 July 2015. 167 teams registered for the event of which 100 qualified for the main round. Our team stood at 30th position after the virtual round with a score of 67.

We arrived at Madras Motor Race Track a few days before the event. Our performance in the Technical round was creditable. The judges pointed out some minor errors in some components of our car, they said that we would have passed the round even if we had a few more hours. The competition overall was a great learning experience where we learnt several new design and manufacturing techniques. This will equip us with the knowledge to come back stronger next year and have a much-improved performance.
