Master of Liberal Arts (MLA):
The Master of Liberal Arts is a multi-disciplinary programme initiated in 2022. The programme offers a unique combination of training in theoretical analysis and abstract thinking with the practical application of these skills through rigorous coursework and mentored projects.

Admission:
The programme has a maximum of 30 seats, with reservation norms as per government rules.

Applicants will be selected for the programme on the basis of an entrance test followed by an interview. The test is conducted in the month of June. The written exam tests the applicants on reading comprehension, general and social awareness, quantitative ability, and logical reasoning skills. Additionally, the applicants are required to write two essays which tests their critical thinking skills and articulation.

Currently the only centre for taking the test is IIT Guwahati.

The results are announced and the list of selected candidates is published on the departmental webpage. Admission normally starts towards the end of July, after which the classes start.
