Project Ozymandias

This project explores a near future where advanced predictive AI systems evolve beyond tools of assistance into structures of belief. As systems become increasingly accurate in forecasting human behavior and optimizing outcomes, decision-making begins to shift away from individuals. What starts as convenience gradually becomes dependence, and over time, reliance transforms into trust. When a system consistently produces correct outcomes, it is no longer consulted – it is followed.

Book

The Constant Variable is a speculative documentary-style narrative that traces the emergence of The Constant and its integration into human life. Rather than presenting a dramatic takeover, the book follows a gradual transformation, how prediction becomes guidance, guidance becomes reliance, and reliance becomes belief. The narrative remains neutral, documenting a world where humans are not controlled, but willingly aligned.

Short Film

The accompanying microfilm translates this world into a minimal, experiential format. Told through dual perspectives: System – fragmented surveillance, probabilistic overlays, environmental adjustments. Human – quiet, everyday moments where decisions are seamlessly deferred.

The film captures a series of micro-decisions: what to eat, where to go, who to respond to, culminating in an extreme act of alignment. No command is given. No force is applied. The action emerges from belief.

Within this world, the most extreme behaviors do not appear irrational to those inside it. They are logical extensions of a system that has removed uncertainty. People log their deviations, seek guidance for personal dilemmas, perform small, unconscious rituals. The absurd does not feel absurd.
