Important Information for BTech and BDes 2020 batch Students coming to the Institute Campus
As the 2nd Semester BTech and BDes students have started coming to the campus, here are few essentials that the students must bring along with and submit as and when asked for:
All Certificates, Marks Sheets & Other Documents in Original along with Two Sets of Photocopies and Scanned Copy (in PDF format) of the originals:
- All certificates (Pass Certificate, if any and Marks Sheets/ Grade Cards) for 10th Class and 12th Class
- Original Admit Card of JEE(Advanced)-2020 and Downloaded Score Card of JEE(Advanced)-2020
- Birth Certificate (for Date of Birth)
- Provisional Seat Allotment Letter
- Document Verification-cum-Seat Acceptance Letter issued at Reporting Center of JoSAA2020
- In case of General-EWS category students, Income & Asset Certificate issued on or after 01.04.2020 in prescribed format given in JEE(Advanced)-2020 Information Brochure Information Brochure
- In case of OBC(NCL) category students, OBC-Non Creamy Layer Certificate issued on or after 01.04.2020 in prescribed format given in JEE(Advanced)-2020 Information Brochure Information Brochure

- Proof of payment of Seat Acceptance Fee (Rs.35,000/- or Rs.15,000/-)
- For those having family income less than 5 lakhs in the last Financial Year and claiming partial / full tuition fee waiver: Family Annual Income Certificate for the financial year of April 1, 2019 to March 31, 2020 issued by the competent authority (District Magistrate/ Revenue Officer / Tehsildar) and Income Affidavit (on non-judicial stamp paper) in the prescribed format (doc, pdf)
- Passport (for foreign nationals) or OCI certificate or PIO card, if applicable
- DS Certificate, if applicable [format as given in JEE(Advanced)-2020 Information Brochure Information Brochure]
- Colour Passport Size and Stamp Size Photographs of the student with white background (at least 10 numbers each)
- Aadhaar Card (if available), then Scanned Copy (PDF file) and Photocopy of Your Aadhaar Card
Institute Email-ID is created for every student and the activation link was sent to individual email-ids registered with JEE Advanced/UCEED. If you did not notice it in the Inbox, please check in Junk/Spam folder. If you did not receive it, please write an email from the registered mail-id with your Name and IITG Roll No. to "acadoff@iitg.ac.in"
This is for information of all the new students admitted to Bachelor of Technology (B.Tech.) through JEE (Advanced) 2020 and Bachelor of Design (B.Des.) through UCEED 2020 at IIT Guwahati.
- The admission to the B.Tech./B.Des. programmes is provisional and subject to verification of all required documents in original for satisfying the eligibility criteria.
- Due to COVID-19 pandemic, teaching and assessments of all courses of 1st Semester B.Tech./B.Des. will be conducted online.
- All the students are hereby instructed NOT to come/visit physically to IIT Guwahati till the notification for physical reporting is issued by the Institute.

First Semester BTech/BDes Fee Details
The admission fee has been revised as the students are not admitted in the hostels in view of the COVID-19 pandemic. Click HERE to view the original and the revised fee. The original fee will be applicable once the students admitted into the hostels.

Fee Payment Details of BTech 1st Semester Students
JEE (Advanced) 2020 will deduct Rs. 2,000/- as Reporting Center Processing Charge from the seat acceptance fee paid by you and the remaining amount (Rs. 33,000/- or Rs. 13,000/- as applicable) will be transferred to IIT Guwahati in order to adjust in the IITG Total fee at the time of admission.
So, the Balance Amount of Fee (= IITG Total Fee minus Rs. 33,000/- or Rs. 13,000/- as applicable) is to be paid through online mode as given below:

Fee Payment Details of BDes 1st Semester Students
UCEED 2020 will transfer Rs. 15,000/- (SC/ST/PwD) and Rs. 60,000/- (GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL) to IIT Guwahati collected at the time of counselling for BDes students. This amount will be adjusted in the IIT Guwahati fee at the time of admission.
So, the Balance Amount of Fee (= IITG Total Fee minus Rs. 60,000/- or Rs. 15,000/- as applicable) is to be paid through online mode as given below:

Excess payment of Rs. 2050/- paid by SC/ST/PwD students, Rs. 47,050/- paid by GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL – MEB students, and Rs. 13,717/- paid by GEN/GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL – OEB students will be adjusted with the 2nd Semester fee.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
If it is found that the information given by the student while claiming fee waiver is false, then the waiver/remission given in tuition fee to the student can be recovered with penal interest, and legal action as deemed fit by the Institute may be taken against the student.
