Minimum Qualifications
PhD with first class at the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record.
Experience
Professor (Pay level 14A): A minimum of 10 years of experience of which at least 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs, IISc Bangalore, IIMs, NITIE Mumbai and IISERs or at an equivalent level in any such other Indian or foreign institution/institutions of comparable standards.
Associate Professor (Pay level 13A2): A PhD with first class at the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and a minimum of 6 years of teaching/research/industrial experience of which at least 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor Gr. I, Senior Scientific Officer/Senior Design Engineer.
Assistant Professor Gr I (Pay level 12): An Assistant Professor with a PhD with first class at the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and at least 3 years teaching/research/industrial experience, excluding however, the experience gained while pursuing PhD.
Assistant Professor on Gr II (Pay level 10 & 11): This is not a regular cadre of the Institute. PhD without adequate experience are eligible for the post of Assistant Professor on contract basis.
Professor of an Institute of national importance who is on the verge of retirement or who has recently retired may also apply for a contract appointment.
Minimum requirements of qualification and/or experience may be relaxed in respect of exceptionally outstanding candidates.
Other Information:
- Pay and allowances will be as per GOI rules.
- Preferably the candidates should be below 35 years of age.
- Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD candidates is applicable as per Government of India norms. Age relaxation in upper age limit in case of SC/ST = 5 years, OBC-NCL = 3 years and PwD = 5 years (10 years for SC/ST and 8 years for OBC candidates). Reserved category candidates must upload their self-certified valid SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD certificate issued by the Competent Government Authority in the prescribed format in support of their claim. Original certificates will be verified during the interview.
- Degrees obtained by the candidate must be awarded by a recognized University/Institute.
- All Educational qualification certificates including the date of PhD awarded must be uploaded.
- All Experience certificates duly signed and sealed by the employer, must be uploaded.
- Candidates who worked in Government/Semi Government Organizations or Educational Institutions must apply through the proper channel OR provide a No Objection Certificate while applying or at the time of the Interview.
- Separate applications must be sent if a candidate is applying for a faculty position in more than one Department/School.
- The Institute reserves the right to call for interview only those candidates shortlisted on the basis of their qualifications, experience, and requirements of the concerned Department/School. Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for an interview. The decision of the Institute in all matters will be final.
