Online applications against Rolling advertisements pertaining to some Departments/Schools are invited for the faculty positions at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, as detailed below.

Minimum Qualifications:

PhD with first class in the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record. 

Experience:

Assistant Professor Gr I (Pay level 12): An Assistant Professor with a PhD and with a first class in the preceding degree or equivalent in the appropriate branch with a very good academic record throughout and at least 3 years teaching/research/industrial experience, excluding however, the experience gained while pursuing PhD.

Assistant Professor on Gr II (Pay level 10 & 11): This is not a regular cadre of the Institute. PhD without adequate experience are eligible for the post of Assistant Professor on contract basis.

Minimum requirements of qualification and/or experience may be relaxed in respect of exceptionally outstanding candidates.

Other Information:

1. Pay and allowances will be as per GOI rules.

2. Preferably, the candidates should be below 35 years of age for the Assistant Professor post.

3. Age relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD candidates is applicable as per Government of India norms. Age relaxation in upper age limit in case of SC/ST = 5 years, OBC-NCL = 3 years, and PwD = 5 years (10 years for SC/ST and 8 years for OBC candidates). Reserved category candidates must upload their self-certified valid SC/ST/OBC-NCL/EWS/PwD certificate issued by the Competent Government Authority in the prescribed format in support of their claim. Please note that OBC-NCL or EWS certificate must be a valid current certificate issued by the appropriate Authority as per GOI norms. Original certificates will be verified during the interview.

4. Degrees obtained by the candidate must be from a recognized University/Institute.

5. All Educational qualification certificates (from 10^th onwards), including the date of PhD award, must be uploaded.

6. All Experience certificates having the signature and seal of the employer, must be uploaded.

7. The CV attachment must contain your short and long-term research plan by highlighting your current and past research interests and achievements.

8. Candidates working in Government / Semi­ Government Organizations or Educational Institutions must apply through the proper channel OR provide a No Objection Certificate while applying or at the time of the Interview.

9. Separate applications must be sent if a candidate is applying for a faculty position in more than one Department/School.

10. Incomplete applications (without relevant data/certificates) may not be considered for shortlisting.

11. The Institute reserves the right to call for interview only those candidates shortlisted on the basis of their qualifications, experience, and requirements of the concerned Department/School. Mere eligibility will not vest any right on any candidate for being called for an interview. The decision of the Institute in all matters will be final.

12. No correspondence whatsoever will be entertained from the candidates regarding the reason for not being called for the interview/outcome of the interview.

13. The applicants will be responsible for the correctness of the information given by them while applying for the posts. In case of submission of any incorrect information by them, their candidature/appointment may be cancelled/withdrawn at any point of time.

14. Canvassing in any manner may entail disqualification of the candidature.

15. The Institute reserves the right to withdraw any or all the posts advertised.
