IIT Guwahati offers a 4-year Bachelor of Science (BS) in Biomedical Science and Engineering through

Jyoti and Bhupat Mehta School of Health Sciences and Technology

Eligibility Criteria

  • A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in the 2025 or 2024.
  • The candidate must have the subjects Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology in Class XII and should have scored a minimum 75% aggregate marks in the aforementioned subjects at the time of admission.
  • The candidate must have qualified for IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025.

Application Process

1. Applications for the Bachelor of Science (BS) programmes should be submitted only online through the Application Portal: https://www.iitg.ac.in/admission

2. Applications will not be accepted in any other mode.

3. Before submission of applications, please go through the information provided on this admission website carefully.

4. During the application submission, the candidates need to provide the application number of IISER Aptitude Test (IAT) 2025 (https://iiseradmission.in).

5. Submission of online application is a three step process. Unless all the three steps are completed, the application will not be treated as complete. Incomplete applications will not be considered for processing.

· Step-1: Personal information including the educational qualifications.

· Step-2: Selection of programme.

· Step-3: Online payment of application fee.

6. For submission of applications, the candidates have to complete steps 1 & 2 beforehand.

7. Application & Processing Fee: In step-3 of the online application process, each candidate needs to make payment of application (processing) fee online as per the following:

· All Female Candidates: Rs.300/-

· All Transgender Candidates: Rs.300/-

· All SC/ ST/ PwD Candidates: Rs.300/-

· All Other Candidates: Rs.600/-

8. Applications without successful (online) payment of application fee shall be rejected.

9. Candidates who have successfully submitted the application have to submit their detailed (subject wise) marks of class 12 examination and IAT 2025 result information in due course of time. The applicants are requested to follow the notifications issued from time to time for filling the additional details.

Selection Process

1. Applications of the candidates which are complete in all respects are considered valid.

2. The selection will be based on the merit in IAT 2025 and the performance of candidates in Class 12.

3. MEC: The applicants who do not satisfy the minimum eligibility criteria and norms will not be considered for shortlisting/selection process.

4. Shortlisting: The Institute reserves the right to consider a limited number of eligible candidates for selection process by setting additional shortlisting criteria based on the performance in IAT 2025, marks in the qualifying Class 12 examination and/or other educational qualification starting from Class 10.

5. The shortlisted candidates shall be considered for the selection process.

6. Applicants have to visit this website and website/s of respective academic division regularly for information regarding shortlisting and selection of candidates. No personalized information can be expected in this regard. IIT Guwahati will not be responsible for delayed response from the applicants.

7. The results of shortlisting and selection shall be announced on the Application Portal. The applicants may login to the portal and check the results.

Fee Details

Tuition Fee (per semester): Rs. 1,00,000/-
First Semester admission fee including tuition fee: Rs. 1,63,800/- (here Medical Examination Fee and Medical Insurance Fee will be added).
Second Semester onwards: Rs. 1,43,200/- (Medical Insurance Fee will be extra)
The above mentioned fees may be revised from time to time.
No tuition fee for SC/ST/PwD Students.
MEB and OEB students will get tuition fee waiver, as per norms.
